I think 08 was the last year of cats in the muffler, now in the head pipes.Does make alot of back pressure, and holds lots of heat at your right foot. Removing them does improve performance I think. 103 stage one no cats ultra classic soon se racing tuner

you will find the model year introduction docs, which track changes.
It's a neet way to see things come and go.
2010 was the introduction of a tighter tailpipe emission standard- and that's when cats became universal in touring headers.
( 09 49 state bikes did not)
