Default ROAD KING REAR BUMPER REMOVAL

HAS ANYONE REMOVED THE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY ON A ROAD KING AND IF SO DID YOU HAVE TO INSTALL ANY NEW BRACES. I SEE A REAR BUMPER REPLACEMENT BRACE FOR SALE BUT DON'T SEE ANY NEED FOR IT.
THANKS

The brace/bracket is part no. 91140-04 and it is used on RK Customs, Street Glides, and Road Glides. It ties the saddlebag support bracket and struts to the rear fender. Without it, a large gap appears between the fender and the chrome struts on either side of the fender. I saw a custom paint set installed on a RK Custom at my dealership and the gap was very noticeable; apparently the service dept. omitted installing the bracket when they put the paint set on the bike.

You'll need a brace that attaches to the fender and saddle bag supports. Most parts places on line sell them.

I bought the brace part number 91140-04 for my Road king standard 07 model. I got the bumper off ok, but the brace won't fit under the fender. Can someone show some pictures? Is there a reason that my fender would be different form any of yours?

I don't have a pic on the bike, but the tip end goes onto the bolt stud where the bumper was attached under the fender. Then you just attach the ends to the saddlebag supports. It does look like it won't fit when you start putting it on, but mine did.

I just went out and gave it another shot. It went on. I had to pull, push, and squeeze things to get it to fit on there, but it went on. Thanks for the reply. Initially I didn't think it would fit under the fender. You kind of have to MAKE it fit under there. Looks great now that I've got it all figured out.
