Default DDM Tuning HID Kit Question

Hi all, been seaching old threads about the DDM Hid kits and haven't been able to find some info and maybe someone out there can answer... I have a 2009 street glide with the dual headlight kit (HD#67864-04a) with the H11 lowbeam & H9 highbeam I want to install an HID kit from DDM on the lowbeam / keeping my highbeam stock H9 bulb and was wondering if anyone else has done this and if so do you need a special adapter? because the connection from the 3 prong connector splits (1 to high 1 to low)with the dual bulb kit, it does have another wire covered up & folded over on the dual bulb connector tho, for what ? I really don't know. I have read that some members here have said they have installed the kit on the dual bulb lights but, never said anything else about the install.....anyone know forsure? maybe a wireing diagram or a part # for a needed adapter? anyone with pics maybe ? does the bulb plug into the stock H11 plug after????? DDM was clueless all they told me was not to use the 55W kit ! (too hot for bikes? ) thanks to all in advance !

I have DDMs in my truck and I love them but I have had them for about 2 years now and since then they have changed manufacturers of there HIDS so I heard quality has gone done but I have a few buddies that have got within the past couple months and had no problems.

55 watts would be to hot in the high beam... if it is the headlight I think it has the high beam on the bottom of the headlight correct? So I would just go wit 35 watt there bright trust me.

Either way since there are two bulbs you are going to want the kit that comes with two separate ballast and two bulbs or oh no now that I think of it your going to want to but two single bulb kits ( http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...rcycle-HID-Kit ) one kit with the H9 bulb and the other kit with the H11 bulb and go with what temp/color you want if you want the brightest light temp I would go with the 5000k but if you want bright and kinda cool I would go with 6k or 8k I have 8k in my lows on my truck and 6k on my highs.

Hope this helps you out some oh yeah make sure you mount them away from the radio and antenna cable because they cut your radio reception alot and make sure there mounted on rubber or plastic or put a piece or rubber in between.

EDIT: Just re read your OP and you'll only want one kit for your low H11 and the kit should come with any adapters you might need.

I have been doing a ton of reading up on doing HIDs on my ultra and the only thing that is holding me back in my inter fairing antenna and the lose in reception I lost it in my truck but since I have xm in my truck is doesnt mess with that reception just the fm and am radio

Thanks Garrett for the info, I tried emailing DDM and I don't think they had a clue. They just told me it was plug & play and use a 35W etc etc...I was not sure they would include an adapter so I was hoping someone who had done an install on a dual bulb would know forsure. (anyone ?) The kit is cheap enough just dont want to pull it all apart and find I need something else ! I have read here how slow they are at shipping .. think I also read they came direct from china??

Oh.....BTW... whats the deal with the radio problem? don't they make some kind of (resistor? ) or something that would eliminate the interferance, is that something else to buy or wait to see if I do have that problem??

Yeah they will include the adapters you need!

yeah they used to make their HIDs in house in cali but now they have some place in china make them and ship them so you get them straight from china not DDM so their website says made in the US but that was for their old kits.

Its just something with the ballast do I mean if you mount them right then you will have less then if you mount them on metal etc! there isnt anything you can buy yet that I know of. if you dont have an inner fairing antenna or anything I think you will be alright.

cant help ya with the wiring but im running the 55w high beam with no issues & i dont have radio interference either. my HIDs came from DDM tuning.
not quite sure you wouldnt want to run the high beam too but to each his own.
hope you get it figured out though.

Do you have any pictures of where you have the ballast mounted at?! Because the lose in reception is the only thing holding me back!

Sweet post pics of the install too!

Edit: I gotta ask how is the light output on the dual bulb vs the stock single H4 bulb headlight?

I was disappointed with the dual bulb kit, it is a slight bit better than the stock one but, not worth it for what the kit costs new, I saw a kit at Gator Harley in Leesburg last month on their bargin shelf and it got me to thinkin....then saw one on ebay cheap, $53 and an HID kit is now cheap enough $32 shipped ! so..... why not? I am just hoping the ballast plugs into the socket that the lowbeam H11 plugged into, not to the 3 prong connector Before the spliter, then the install will be a piece of cake, well waitin for the kit to arrive, will post some pics of install and review
