Picked up an 08 Ultra Classic last week and swore I was not going to do anything but ride it. Didn't make it a week before it started. There was this set of SG wheels just setting in the corner gathering dust. And then a set of SG rear shocks were just in the way, so why not use them. And there was that extra windshield in the rafters that might look ok. Now I'm looking at changing bars. Oh no! Its starting again. Anybody know of a good 12 step program I can get into?
Yeah I started Modifiers Anonymous awhile back after putting $30 into a 2005 Pontiac GTO not including the $28k for the car new. 550hp/535tq to the rear wheels baby and a full drivetrain and race suspension to handle it all. Plus $4k for a twin axle Bri-mar trailer to haul it back and forth from the drag strip.

Done same stuff to the bike because I want to keep it reliable. I've 3/4's of the way across the country twice on it already in two years. I was supposed to do a trip to Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, & Nevada in June with the wife but she now has to have her left foot completely reconstructed because of flat feet, a torn tendon, and a few extra unneeded bones.

You have to set a goal and stop when you get there........if your just buying crap just cause or it was a deal......then there's no end......did you sell the bike in your sig? That's a slick looking bike man
It's a sickness. 12 step programs may work with some things, but 12 ain't near enough for this disease!! I think the first step should be, "I promise not to put more than $12,000 into my motorcycle". That's over and above the purchase price, of course.
It doesn't sound like you've actually spent any money - the items were just laying around. It's when you start spending the $$$ that it's called a sickness.
I know of a 1 step program to curb your spending. You think about what you want to do to the bike and what it would cost then send me the money and I'll bank it for you. Just trying to help you out....
