For you folks using this is there only one plug from the unit to the iPod that hooks into the power plug-in or is there a separate one that plugs into the audio output (where you plug your earbuds in) of the iPod? Also, are you able to turn the iPod off and on with your hand controls? Anything else I should know before I shell out the cash?
Installed on my buddies 2011 UC totally intergrated only wires to hook up is the power and ground to rear of radio the rest is plug and play took about 35min to install. works off your handle bar controls radio even shows ipod when playing great system ordering one for myself ps iron cross audio sells same unit cheaper and free shipping PS the ipod goes into your saddle bag charges and plays from there you hook your headsets to listen or plays through speakers

I bought an extension cable. I just close the lid on the cable. If I wear out the extension cable by closing the lid on it, I just buy a new one. So far that hasn't happened..... and they're only 15 bucks, if and when it happens. I put the connection between the two cables under the side cover.

To answer your question you only have a plug for the dock connector. You get the option to play the ipod just like you would switching to a cd from the radio (it is automaticly added to your source menu on the radio). The ipod is controlled from the handlebar controls....
I purchased the HD unit. It works great.
The hardest part of the install was figuring out how the 35 pin connector you unplug from the radio comes apart to insert the 4 wires.
