I have an 01 electra glide. It has a grease fitting on the neck. what kind of grease and what is the required amount to fill? only 10k mi on the bike but I don't know if it has been serviced or if at that low mileage even calls for it?
thanks
I would fill the neck with grease till it pisses out of bearing races. Then clean up excess. As far as I know, Harley does not fill the neck so if it has not been filled before, it will take quite a bit till it is filled. Just keep pumping it in. That is what I had to do.

I use lithium based grease as I ride in rain and use a pressure washer to clean the heavy crap off my bike regularly. It works fine as I have no problems and never have. What Crash75 said is what alot of us do around here in Boise. It will take anywhere from 30ish to 60 or more pumps with my full sized tube grease gun to fill the few I have done or seen done.

I use lucas red and tacky #2 ....it doesn't drip like the stuff harley puts in there and lubes just fine....it takes almost a full tube the first time you grease it...
