A common mistake that many make is cranking it up during winter & let it idle for a little time. Idling for 20 mins doesn't allow the motor to get off the "rich" setting used for cold cranking. That can lead to a fouled plug. If youre gonna crank it, go ride it.
It may not apply to your circumstance but it does apply to many.
I like NGK or Autolites but have used Champions in the past. Normally I run 1 range cooler than stock.
I find that HD plugs are a bit too hot for my tune.
Buy what makes ya happy.
.
High idle and warm up enrichment ends when the front head ET sensor reads 167F, that takes about 4 min from cold start up. The HD 10R12s are VROD plugs that you might like if you prefer a colder plug.
Report. I put in new hd double platinum plugs put in fresh 93 octane gas (sorry the 96 was a typo) and went on a 15 mile test ride. Unfortunately it's exactly the same. Any fresh ideas? As I said before the bike was 100% fine before I parked at the end of November. Bike fired up and was fine for about 3 miles today. Now it $hit. It will fire up and idle fine, it's once u hit the throttle it's like it not there. No power. 4 th gear at 55 felt like I was in 6th goin 55. What ya think?
I hate to say it. But I am assuming your still under warranty. I think I would call your stealer and see what they have to say. I'm thinking throttle position sensor.
