Default Sorry another trailering question

Just set up my harbor freight chock. Had to modify things a little as my trailer has a ramp built in the floor. So the floor is not all on the same level. I mounted the chock to a board so I can use it in the trailer and in the garage. I had to put a hinge in the board under the rear wheel as that is where the floor changes levels(see pic). I also moved the chock all the way forward in the frame work and then moved the pivot piece forward 4 1/4 "(see pic). All is good with chock easy to get in and out of.
My question is on the down tube of the bike frame there is a piece welded between the 2 tubes. Why can't a soft tie be put around the frame just above this to tie the front end down(see pic)? This looks to be a good place and the tie downs in the floor are in alignment with this point. I have looked at others approach at tying their bike down and some suggest around the fork tube just above the fender bolts. Others suggest the triple tree, there is no way to tie up there on my bike.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this for me.

I dont see a problem with that as long as the bike does'nt sway from side to side.
I used the engine guard crossover member(next one up) when I trailered my old road glide.
Also good idea to use some tie downs on the rear.

My need to trailer will be coming up soon.
I intend to go with one of these.
It looks like it will make it easier, and, won't show like the mounts that go on the front struts.

I've seen them at other sites as well, including the famous on-line auction site.

Best of luck!

Why not loop your soft ties over the frame between the fuel tank and the fork shaft. Put one for each side and ratchet them down. I've been doing it that way for over ten years. Never had a problem.

I don't see a lot of options on my bike. It is an ultra classic. The fairing and the lowers get in the way of most places to tie down. This area of the frame is completely out in the open.
I will look to see if I can get the straps in there.

You can attach straps from basically the same location using "soft ties". Have done it several times for thousands of miles.

I added the Kuryakyn tie down brackets (part #928). I have a 2010 FLHTK. They work great and keep the straps away from painted parts.

I wonder if the Kiwi bracket will work with lower fairings?
Their PDF pics show it mounted on a bike without lowers.

I have the KIWI bracket on my Road King Classic and it works great. Once on it can hardley bee seen. Trailed this winter from Chicago to Florida Line and back and no issues. (it was snowing up north)
