also check that your enrichener **** (I think your carburetted) that it's functioning properly.

If you are referring to the choke, it seems to be working fine. But......how do I check to make sure it is working properly?? When I pull it to crank in the morning, it revs a bit more and when I push it in, it drops idle. Other than that, I have no clue if it is working properly.

More than likely it is functioning correctly based on your description. Normal, warmed idle should be somewhere near 950-1000 rpm. Fouled plugs would be an indicator too, so be sure to check out the condition of them, but it sounds as if your replacing them for good measure anyway. Hope it turns out to be a simple fix for ya.

Called the local dealership and found out the plugs should be gapped at 40,000. I pulled the plugs and they look ok, but were gapper at 30,000. Plus they were shitty Champions. I regapped and will run a tank through. I'm gonna replace the plugs with stock, I just want to see any improvement.

My first guess is there was something faulty with your measurement for the 100-mile tank. What was your next tank MPG like? I don't think plugs would have such a dramatic effect on MPG.
