Default 2012 SG problems

Yesterday started out pretty good. Got a call from the dealer telling me my license plate arrived. So after work I was heading to the dealer to pick up my plate. About a mile down the road my engine light and battery light came on. Looked at my volt gauge and noticed it was saying 12v. Then jumped up to 16v. Couple miles down the road engine light comes on again along with the battery light. Gauge was again at 12v. Didn't matter what the RPM's were.

Kinda pissed bike only has 440 miles on it. Shouldn't be having this kind of problem this early. Only thing I have touched as far as electrical was swapping the positive and negative terminals of the cigarette lighter they were reversed. Haven't touched the battery terminals.

Hoping it is something simple. Going to the hill country here in Texas in a couple weeks don't want to break down.

Next week putting the monkey bars on her.

Mine did that once, turned out the battery was shot. Dealer replaced it and all was good.

Or it could be as simple as lose terminals on the battery.

Service manager just called. Turns out it was the battery terminals were lose. Glad it was something stupid and not something more serious. Just makes you wonder did they do a pre-check before they delivered my SG.

My rear fender was mis-aligned. The left side would slightly rattle with the RPMs...they had to adjust the fender so that the left side bottom would not touch the bag support. It was annoying, but a simple fix....loosen 2 fender bolts.....adjust....tighten. Quality control and tolerances BS are always annoying on a new bike!

In my original post I said my monkey bars go on next week. So the lose battery was Harley's fault.
