Happy nothing is broken. I've dropped ... several times. It is always my fault ... once it happens, you cannot un-drop ... I pick-up and try to learn from my mistake ... usually, Im in a hurry or focused upon something other than the bike ... lessons learned.
she came down to check on me...by the time she got there I had it up already.
But what about the bike???
I layed my electraglide over with my wife on the back. Stopped on the side of the road cause we missed a turn, the bike was on the edge of the pavement, didn't look and the side of the road dropped about 6" where I put my foot down. Layed it over easy, once it starts going there's no stopping 850 lbs.
Been riding over 45 years, we all do it at some point, I'm just glad I had already watched the video about picking up your bike with the small of your back into the seat and standing.
I picked it back up alone with no trouble at all.
I can still brag that I haven't had a crash in 46 years of riding but I lost count on how many times I've dropped a bike. If this is the first time you've dropped one you must not have been riding long.
13 years riding... first drop. Went down on my first bike the first year I had it... Hit a patch of gravel in a parking lot while making a turn...not real fast..and the back wheel just went out. I rolled away from the bike, and the bike slid a few feet. Got up, and had to fix bars and an engine cover, but it wasn't bad. Hope its all outta the way now..LOL
Shake it off!!!! I'm in the club too. I did it 2 times in 1 minute. I was new to the bike, and was nervous as hell on it and it didnt have set up for me. I fell over doing a slow turn. I quickly picked the bike up and fell back over again. It wasnt too bad, no damage to the bike and there was only about 75 people watching me. New bars, and practicing the ride like a pro drills worked wonders for me. BTW Im ordering my new seat today.
Yep back in July when I picked up my new eg, went to show it off to my boys at the local 7-11, pulled in with the music blasting tried to make the u turn to back in to a spot and down she went, nice and slow. No damage at all. I have since installed lower shocks, and modified my seat to put me lower.
I dropped mine right in front of Coyote Ugly in Daytona Beach during Bike Week. The only way there could have been more viewers is if it had made the evening news.
