I have an 05' electra Cop bike with the solo air ride seat. I love the ride but want to switch in the spring to a new 2up seat for passenger.
I am going back and forth with what to get.
option #1: keep the comfy air ride and buy a passenger pillon and backrest (removable) ($269)
Oprtion#2 : replace the entire seat with a new Screamin Eagle seat and backrest - looks nice and sleek ($379)
Option 3: I have been looking at the tall seat to give me more room and length (i am 6'4 and would benefit from the 1/2 inch up and back design) ($279)
is it worth the "TALL" riders seat upgrade? anyone have this?
should i keep the comfort air ride and just go with the removable passenger
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have to ask. I'm 6'7", 36" inseam and thinking about building my glide out as a solo. How's the cop seat for us long legged types?
i believe it puts you high up for sure and if you air it up to the bax for sure puts you put on the bike .. but... i still think I would like to move my floorboards forward a bit for better comfort. I am only 6'4 - 34 in seem and feet to upright.
Its a great comfort seat and ride but, with the other stock and 2 up seats i think you can back up a bit and adjust your sitting more and stretch out. you sit in the cop seat and your only able to be in one position. thats the draw back.
So far i love it! Thats why I am trying to accommidate a passenger without getting rid of it yet
I know i will have to reloacte the air tank to a saddle bag probably to add this but its worth it to me
I put the air ride seat on my 06 Classic & bought the matching Mustang passenger seat. I love this seat. It works great for an old fat guy with a bad back. If you want to get rid of the air tank you can make a smaller one out of plastic pvc pipe & tie wrap it under your side cover as I have done. Here's a couple of photos of mine:
looks great. I would like direction on the air tank mod. Also can you tell me how you mounted this seat? cause all it cam with is a rubber washer. I suspect i need a screw (as noted above ) for the rear fender but the paperwork that cam with it show 2 brackets that attached to the solo seat (not airride seat). So how did you attach it? just the one screw ont he fender?
sporty - seat arrived and looks beautiful! your right. I need the nut. Cant wait to put it on. thanks again for the help.
Your Welcome. I wish I had left the air ride seat on mine but I am a little short in the inseam so I couldnt touch as well as I wanted to.I have lowered the bike since and may put it back on at some future date .

I'm 6'2" and opted for the Tallboy seat. The added room is MUCH more comfortable and puts my sightline just over the windshield, which is where I want it. And your passenger will love the seat too.
