I will go for #1 and make it like you want!!! second or third choice are good if you want to let them quite stock and sell them in 2 or 3 years.

I love my 88" more than a 96". I spend 2 weeks this summer with a 96" running around your country. A nice bike but i was more than happy when i run mine when i return.

Keep looking for a better cash price. Nothing wrong at all with the 88. I have over 100k miles on mine. I've seen them on here and other places for 9-10k with low miles.

I still say go with new. The world is ending in Dec. You won't even have to worry about making all the payments.

Number 3, brand new, no worries about how it was ridden or cared for. Start with a blank canvas and make it your own.

Second is an 09 with 55xx miles, bottom line price at the dealer is $16,995. By the time I get a warranty, pay dealer fees, and tax, I'm in the neighborhood of $20,500.

Third is for $22,000 out the door, I could get a new 2012 with a 103. I could pay cash for the first but would have to finance the second and third. I'm in a great position financially for the first time in my adult life because I have no debt and would like to keep it that way.

What you think?
#3 Like many have said, for the $1500 diff it's a no brainer, IMO. Peace!

Of the three options, I would go with #3. I like the new frames on the bikes. If you don't want to spend that much I would look for a private sale on an '09 or later bike. For example, after looking for a while I found a great deal on a loaded 2010 RG for 16k and it came with around 7k of extras (stage 1, tour pak, chromed front end, HD Premium Ride Suspension ...)! Good luck!

Ironic I have an 04 with 14k miles that I bought for $12.5 in 2009. When I bought it had only 3k miles. Has yet to give me any problem at all. I figured I saved $10k over new. With that savings I bought a C4 corvette..............or at least that's the plan as soon as the wife buys in to it. A few of you said life is too short, and you're right.

You said you do 12-15k miles a year, I would go new

I ended up going with the 04 for $10K. I feel confident that I made the right choice and best of all it's paid for with title in hand. I've owned several Ultra classics since 05 to include a 2010 in my sig pic. Not sure exactly what it is, frame or wheels, but I prefer the older frame and smaller wheels. I feel like I have more control while doing tight pinwheels and maneuvers than I had over my 2010. I do want to put an updated radio and speakers when I get around to it and for now, I'll keep everything stock until I upgrade the engine to a 95" or 103" or maybe trade for a 110 anniversery next summer which will depend on what the 13's have to offer. Thanks for the input and be safe out there.

Go with the 2012, but DO NOT go with any of the dealer add-ons (extended warranty, tire for life, etc.). Save your money, the factory warranty is more than adequate.
By the way, there are dealers around here that are offering 1.9% financing - that is almost free money...
