Does anyone scrape when banking hard in a turn?
I am an expert level National Champion Rider on multiple brands of motorcycles with titles in Multiple States. I have been flown to Israel to perform riding consultations for the GWRRA. I have ridden in 4 Countries. I have also ridden on 11 islands in the Caribbean. I have ridden in every single US State. I have over 300,000 miles since 2007 alone.
I have been very fortunate to experience some amazing things. I do take it personally when a less experienced rider tries to tell me I am an ******* because I threw out some constructive criticism. We all had to start somewhere. The difference between us is I kept looking for more knowlege with an open mind.
Not all in my head but thank you for trying to feel better about yourself by tearing others down instead of realizing there may just be others out there who have more knowledge or skill and learn from them.
Now the let it go comment was awesome!
1st off, I truly AM impressed by your qualifications and ENJOYED reading them all TWICE! I know others are intimidated by ur abilities so they need to take a swipe at you. Though it is shameful and speaks volumes about them ever so unpleasantly about them and they are totally oblivious how idiotic and inferior they sound, but it is also a compliment of sorts for you that they would take a lame swipe.
And for your abilities, I take my hat off to you!!
I always like to hear about people accomplishments. I do not see it like those who need a better self image like u r touting abt urself. What u said was relevant and I am 100% sure very factual. Screw them. YOU 'da man!!!
And it is impeccably clear u r not phased by 05UltraBob and he does not even see it. But comes back with yet another childish swipe.
Regarding your banter with 05ULTRABob, you are sooooo on target!!!! YES, u DO in deed know what "kind" of person he is (if u will), and a boat load of others like him as well. He does not and will not "get it".
In my opinion it is best to just ignore ppl like him. And the more I watch this type of thing when someone craps on another person and adds nothing, zilch, nada to the conversation, tries to degenerate another (typically due to their inferior skills or self image or whatever) the sharper person the one with integrity or greater maturity just winds up walking away shaking their head in dismay, spending less time with such silliness.
There is a saying "You can't fix stupid." and u really can't. 05UltraBob, I am not calling you stupid. It is just a saying to relate an idea.
Lastly my friend, riding a little less per year than you (I am only at about 32K/year) and having ridden successfully in 5' gate keyholes with cones (intimidators), the Iron Cross, Snowman, etc... and used to teach it, I can relate a little to your accomplishments and again take my hat off to you.
EXCELLENT JOB DJFireUSA, LOVE to hear about your accomplishments!!!

Been riding sport bikes for 20yrs and was a Motorman for 7yrs.
If ya can't scrape as a Motorman (Motor Cop) you need more practice.
Fact is, you are not. But you should heed the advice NOT to lean any further.
Upon leaning further, you can actually scrape the floorboard support. NOT smart since if u put too much pressure on the floorboard support, I am very sure you will start to lift the pressure off the rear tire basically kicking the rear out and u go down.
For what it is worth, it took me 3-4 months to STOP scraping (although I occasionally still do accidentally) so I am suggesting don't start to do it regularly. It is FUN! But IMHO, not worth screwing with getting that close to the max lean angle due to possible consequences.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
the ex-cop who raced the orange cones). Did you NOT see the chipmink you passed?

Yup, ground clearance is pretty pathetic and it happens all the time ... but how far does it have to go before something hard hits and lifts the bike? No way will you kick it back up like on a sports bike!
Usually it is mufflers ... it'd be good to know in case of an emergency.
I've run wide in a corner once for fear of leaning it to hard (FLHR) and engaged in a little MX riding. Would prefer not to try again.
Like you, it not the leaning over which frightens me, it's the paying for repairs after.
