goldrush: awesome bike! looks great!
Quick question for you, are your apes in line with your forks or do you have them pushed forward a little? Do you have room to go further forward?

Thanks, the bars are pushed forward past being lined up with the forks. They are almost touching the speaker grills that I had to modify for that reason. I thought I was gonna have to get different apes, but these are exactly where I had them before so I was ok. I basically just ground and sanded the two inner speaker grills till they were almost flat.
Thanks for posting on this topic. I ordered this same reckless fairing about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and was wondering about the same issues you posted about. Great stuff. Only other question and comment I have was how close of a paint match was the black gelcoat finish to your HD Black? I have a black 2011 RK and was wondering how close the finish would be, or would I have to head to the paint shop. Also I chose to order the stereo cut-outs, but will take mine to my local audio guy to have the stereo and amp build done locally. Thanks again for the great info and enjoy your ride. Looks awesome.
These are great fairings for the price..I have one on my Heritage soft tail. I am getting ready to trade it for a street glide and will have a complete fairing for sale if anyone is interested in one less than a year old. It has the sony Ipod radio, 6x9 rockford fosgate speakers and a amp I had installed at best buy. It is 100 watts per channel I think. It is loud! I was recently riding with a group and the guy behind me on his ultra pulled up and said I cant hear my radio, all I hear is yours! It is black gel coat and is nearly a perfect match for the vivid black on the heritage.
guys you alls fairings looks great! i work for reckless motorcycles if you all need anything please fill free to call the shop and ask for lumpy or check out our website
I have a 2009 RK and have finally decied to purchase the Reckless. I have been looking at fairings for over a year and it seems as if the reckless will fit my needs.
Questions for rosshog: Did you have the fairing painted locally or did you order it already painted?
I am considering adding additional speakers in the saddle bags. Just wondering if you had done it.
You stated you had an amp installed. Did you opt for the amp from Reckless or added your own?
Thanks for all the info!!

I'm wondering the same thing as you. I have a vivid black RK and how is Reckless matching. Ross, good evaluation, I appreciate that.

Had mine painted by Reckless (outer and inner) and it matches the vivid black perfect.
I get compliments all the time on the fairing. From the front most think its a stock Harley fairing. Then they look at inner and see the 6x9 speakers and realize its aftermarket.
