I have used the S100 Engine Brightner a few times on the previous bike.
A little seems to go a long way.
Since it is designed for just this task, I did not need to worry about any side effects.
S-100 Engine Brightener works well & Harley has their own version of it but I haven’t tried it. Pig Spit also works very good with the added advantage is that you can use it on everything - Painted tins, inner-fairing and windshield and it is antistatic so it doesn’t attract dust and dirt.
If you are into firearms you might of heard of Ballistol.
This stuff cleans and keeps the engine paint a deep glossy black and improves with repeated use. I spray it on a very slightly warm engine and work it in with a toothbrush. Don’t let the fact that it is used to clean the bores of guns scare you as it does not contain any harsh chemicals. They use it in the food service business to clean and lube food processing equipment.
