Default Bagger apes

Well I did it on the Night train and I think I am gonna do it on the Streetglide. Any suggestions as far as what companies to go with as far as kits? I see there are not quite as many choices as for other bikes..

I see Hill country has a 16" kit for 479.00
Paul yaffee kits on ebay are like 1200.00!!!

really just looking for a good 14 or 16 " complete kit that is good quality at a fair price. Any suggestions?

I got mine from hill country. Every thing was just fine. Harley charges ten hours labor. I did the bars and put on an e-zpull clutch kit in 11 hours, so I think I did pretty good.

Can't speak for my SG, still looking around, but on my FatBoy I used the Hill Country kit and it worked great. No problems at all and they were great to work with. Did the work my self, looks a lot more difficult on the SG but I'll still give it a shot.

Welcome to the bagger ape group (a small but growing group). I also have the Hill Country apes (kit). The apes on my CVO Ultra work great. SJ Ron

Yeah I had 14" burly narrows on my Train. I just can't get used to the stock bars on the SG. It is bound to happen. I wonder what HD would charge in labor...LOL

well i don't know what kind of kit you're seeing on EBay for $1200 but it better come with a guy to install it and bikini model to give you a "massage" while your bike is getting worked on..

IF you choose yaffe bars...they run about $375..then you can get some cables /brake lines from Magnum for about $250...and check out NAMZ for wire extension for about $50
the job is alot of work but not too crazy if your a decent wrench...the only warning is with the Yaffe bars pulling the wires is a P.I.A. but even if you take them somewhere to get the wires pulled it'll probably run you about $150 (i've heard you can even send them to Yaffe and get them pulled for about that)
....so all in you'd be at about $675 (about $800 if you pay for wires to get pulled)
yes things will be cheaper if you pick bars other then Yaffe (his stuff is pricey...but NICE)
.....also, welcome to the world of Bagger$, where nothing i$ $imple..... oh you want new exhaust?, that'll be a Grand !

I will be doing some research but that is all I need to do to complete the bike. I bought it used from the local dealer and the bike is already decked out with mods. I am certain by this winter it will be complete with some form of apes.
