Sold my RK so looking at new 07's. I know most guys love the Street Glide, But the local dealer will do $500 under msrp on the EG classic, but wants msrp for the Street Glide. With the lower msrp of the classic, that put's it $700 cheaper then the SG....So, simple question to you SG owners.....when you purchased yours, would a $700 cheaper price on the Classic of changed your mind? Then to twist it a little more, a tour pak on e-bay will bring an easy $750, and the bag guards will bring $200....so now it's $1650 less......
I'd do the EG in a minute over a SG, especially if they are cutting the price. A modding can turn a EG in to aslick looking machine. However,I'd keep the Tour Pak and just put it on a detachable rack.
No brainer. Strip the EG to your liking. Get a short windshield from Fastaire for less than $30. You can get the short shocks from the dealer or on Ebay if you need that look. I would definitley put the tour-pak ona quick-detach...You won't be sorry.More bike for less money.
You're thinking of the standard, the EG Classic has the black motor, a tourpack, bag guards, and some other stuff.
The main thing I wouldn't like about the classic is the pinstriping even if you get one solid color. If you don't mind that though then it should be an easy answer.
Never owned a EGC but do love my 07 SG. Your paying the tab so get what you like. Could of bought the EGC but the rest is history.
Just sayin..
Black powder coated quite a few items.
They're both fine looking machines, and to each their own. But I wouldn't trade my EG Classic for any bike, period. Bottom line is don't worry about anyone else - get what rings your bells and you'll be happy for a good long time.
