Default my build, 21 SMW, bad dad, full paint, 2 and a half months

I figured it was time to post what i did when i bought my first harley, before this I rode a chopped metric, stood out and got alot of attention. I went to sturgis and fell in love with all the baggers. So i got this

2006 FLHT with stage 1, 30k, great shape and clean. What better to do than tear it down with having only rode it a few miles, it was winter here in idaho.

I ordered the following
bad Dad front and rear fenders, stretched bags
21 smw front 3d contrast cut wheel, single side rotor
hhi 6 piston caliper
biketronics sony kit
streetglide bag supports
B&E true duals kit
Santee 11 in apes
all blacked out cables
Had gaugeledmods retro green leds
Lots of black powdercoat
and a hell of a good paint job from painter that painted my yami.

All fitted up

I wanted faint flames with HOK kandy green over gold base

I hated the cast silver motor, big eye sore to a black accented bike so about 15 hrs of masking, cleaning, preping and i got a crinkle black motor.

I am still awaiting on a few parts, shield, crash bar, and 9/16 front master, but i figured id see what the harley world thinks. Of all the vendors i used Bad Dad and SMW were among the top to deal with. I ordered the bags from Henelys Kustom Paint and got them cheaper than straight from bad dad.

The caliper was my nightmare on the build, i knew i would have to modify the front fender when switching so i ordered the caliper from wanaryd, called them the following week and was givin a lead of 2 weeks til it was at my door, i can handle that and still make paint. 2 weeks pass and i keep getting told it was on its way, i start hounding hhi to get a spec drawing of the caliper so i can build a template and cut my fender to get it out for paint. after daily calls to hhi i for a week and a half i get them to email me the sheets. Get fender off to paint, keep calling wanaryd and always getting told its in transit. 2 weeks later my parts start to show up from the painters and i still have no caliper. I finally get someone at wanaryd that calls hhi and gets the truth, item hasnt shipped, nor boxed. there is no back order on said item. its past 5 weeks and this is got me torqued. I finally recieve my caliper 6 weeks after ordering and will choose to never contact HHI for any future parts, i will seek someone else for a rake kit next winter.

Thanks and please post all comments,

Very well done, bravo!

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

I would assume that your a fairly young guy, as you seem to be in tune with all of the latest style trends.

Again , bike kicks ***...
now go ride it like ya stole it!
make the rest of us "new schoolers" proud!

sweet ride!

Curious what you're thinking regarding a raked front. I've got a bucks-down build myself, and next year, I want to go with a 21 or 23 inch front wheel and stretched bags. I concentrated on engine and performance mods this year, next year will be cosmetics.

Hey Thedink,

Your bike looks great man, love that green!

Regarding HHI and the mishap we had in this case with them, we must say...they really are normally a great company to deal with. For whatever reason they fell apart in this case and we deeply apologize for that. Hope to do business with you again in the future and please give us a call if you need anything at all. Ryd Safe!
