Until joining this forum I didn't know there were so many things I simply could not live without.
Yeah, that. And I must resist the urge to go crazy on performance mods, and keep reminding myself I bought the new Harley to have a reliable touring bike.
I certainly have a ton of money in my bike that I'll never get out - a lot of it thanks for HD forums. There are still a lot of things I could do but ya know, it got to a point where I'm done and just say no. Mostly the big stuff was done as winter projects over the past 9 years. At least I resisted the urge to keep trading bikes and stayed with my '02, which I still believe is the best year bagger Harley ever made (before they started removing bearings on the crank and cams).
Now I just ride and enjoy it.
BTW - great decision on the Pitbull. I've had mine for 10 years and wouldn't trade it for anything.
It spends my money, big time. See and hear about all these mods that I want to do. Right now, I don't have a ton of discretionary money so I'm not spending as much as I want. It is very hard to not dip into my motorcycle trip fund.
But, at the same time like others have said I see parts not to buy or find things for less on the classifieds.
I know i've spent alot due to threads I've read on here....but I also know that the forum has helped me to learn to do things to and work on my bike myself, so I've been able to change it up several times and fall in love with my bike over and over again...instead of wanting to go out and buy something new.
