Default Custom Dash & Pop up Gas Cap

I have done a search, both here and on other sites, but have some questions on the custom dashes. First question- how is the dash mounted to tank, most of the ones I see have no visible fasteners. Does the gas cap hold down the front of the dash? Second question- Is the gas cap itself a two piece cap? Hope I can explain what I mean, but wondering if there is a collar that screws into the tank with a flange that holds the dash down, and then the gas cap itself screws into that piece? I have been searching for pop up caps on E-bay,etc., but the caps are not described very well and shown in the closed position only. For those of you that have a custom dash, which brand would you recommend, and which gas cap are you using? Pictures would be appreciated as well, Thanks

I have the Yaffe dash on my 06 Streetglide. I used a Landmark paint protector two piece gas cap to hold down the front (see pic) and I did use a painted to match screw to hold down the back section (it's about 2-3" in front of the seat nose. paul

Thanks! That is the picture of the cap I needed to see. Where did you buy the cap?

Got mine from J&P --- Dennis Kirk most likely carries it also --- google may turn up other sources --- paul (note it comes in two styles --- one cap is smooth and the other is peaked)

I have the Yaffie dash for 6 gal tanks. It is painted black with the pop up gas cap. I am just about to list it here and over at the roadglide forum. Let me know if your interested.
