I have a few questions for you HCC ape hanger owners.
1- I am 6'2" and riding a Street glide (07 model) thinking 14" possibly 16" the more I think about it. Opinions?
2- HCC offers these in different configurations 479 or so with just wiring extensions, 900 fully prewired with controls and plug and play. I noticed while browsing the site that they offer the wiring extensions with the plugs already attached so basically you just have to plug in and then splice the existing wires. This is 80 or 90 bucks extra. I am thinking of going that route because it looks like it would save some labor and headache. I would like some input if anyone has done this and what route they took.
3- Do they return calls? Left a message today with my name and # still waiting.
I've used them, bout some bars for my softtail. They are great guys, really nice product. Everything's good with em......except trying to get em on the phone. I finally just started calling like three times a day. I was so pissed from trying to get ahold of em, but when I did the were super nice.
I've bought a couple sets of bars through them. Great guys and will explain anything to you. I'm 6'4 and I ride with 16", but feel like I could go higher maybe 18". 16" will put the bars right at shoulder height for you. Its hard to get a hold of them because the rally tour has begun for them and they focus a lot on the rallies happening in the south.
I put the 16" Ape Hanger Kit. Everything chromed out and pre-wired. I had the stealership that I bought my bike from install them this winter to get free winter storage. Apes cost with installation and buying some ISO Grips was around $1400. That's about $1000 less than buying everything thru the stealership. I am very happy with them. No more neck and shoulder pain from riding. Now I just need a riders backrest to help with my slouching and I will be in riding in pure comfort. I am 6'1" and 235lbs.

I have the 14" on my EGC and lovem. The 14" really measure 16" from top to bottom, you need to take that into consideration. The 16's will also measure 2" higher than they really are. I'm 6-9 and like the 14", they are just below my sholders. This is my third set from them. Great people to deal with, sometimes it may take a while to reach them, they stay pretty active chasing the rallies. Buying the prewired is a good idea. I didn't, and the wires are a pain in the *** to pull after the extenions are added.
I ordered two sets of bars from them a month ago. Was told they would be shipped out in about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. Started calling last week and still no reply to my messages. Gettin a little worried after dropping almost 2 g's with them.
i got the 14s from them nice height hands just above fairing likje riding with them cant say the same for installing them was going to try and save some money use there wire extensions the liitle plugs that go in the harness are a complete pain in the *** to mess with it ended up being eiser to cut and extend my existng wire then the real pain in the but was pulling through the bars looking back on it wish i would have got the plug and play would have saved about six hours of sottering and splicing and pulling
I would caution you on the pre-wired kits, it looks to me that the cable lengths are long so that they dont get returns because they are too short. The pics I've seen look like they are too long.
Case in point in the pic below. Maybe its just the angle, but I've seen this on more than 1 bike.
