I have a quick detach bracket system on my classic that works great. It also moves the tour pack up to the drivers back and back to the passenger without taking anything off. Check out quickswitch

I'm gonna be doing the tour pack removal on my 2008 Ultra Classic this weekend. The tour pack detach kit for the < 2008 Electra Glides is only for the classic since there are no disconnects for the speakers and controls on the tour pack. I just ordered the Tour Pack Detach kit and I ordred up the parts to make up my own Desutch connectors. (2 x 6 pin and 1 x 3 pin, not sure if I actually will need the 3 pin... but better safe than sorry) Some folks appear to not mind detaching the wires at the tour pack and coiling them up under the seat. But I'm going to either use a Street Glide or Badlander seat when the tour pack is off. The kit accomodates the Brake light and the FM Antenna. I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with the CB Antenna. I never use the CB but I hate to render it useless... So I might end up just doing an inline BNC connector on there for a quick disconnect and just render it useless when the pack is off.
