I understand that when using the quick release/docking station for the tour pak, that you need to use a different license plate frame. Does anyone that's installed this have suggestions?
I have a 05 e-glide clasic and it came with a non detachable tour pac from the factory. The factory tag bracket suports the
rear of the tour pack mounting bar. I changed it out for one my friend removed from his RK custom. I think if your bike came
without tour pack then you can reuse your original tag bracket. But if it has a factory mounted tour and you are making it
detachable then you will need a different bracket.
You didn't say which bike you have. If it is a Roadking, Roadglide, or EG Standard that did not come with a tour pac you wil not need a different lic. bracket. It your bike came with a tour pac, (EG Classic, EG Ultra Classic) you will need to have a different license plate bracket as the brackets on these bikes are part of the tour pac bracket.
When I made the tour pac quick detach. on my EG Classic I used HD's laydown lic. plate bracket. It gives a very clean look when the tour pac is off.
