secret decoder ring found??
It's not the dyno tune that takes the time, it's the changes that your still paying shop time for, like in my case with the Supertrapp there's a start point for disc selection, but that's just a start point. We started at closed cap and 17 disc, went all the way to 32 disc changing 2 disc per run and ended up at 28 disc. This takes time, I know my tuner so I didn't have to pay for it, but could have easily been 4 to 5 hours. Like I said big inch, highly modified motors take time to reach what your looking for, but a few hours dyno time is cheap compared to the $$ you invested to build the motor

Is there any reason that you can't take one of these canned tunes then tweak there on your own? Are they "locked" tuned when you load one? Is there data capture software that you can use to see how the bike is running?
Sorry for the questions. I have a Camaro SS that I tune myself. I have data capture sw that allows me to see the AFR (they are close, not perfect because 02 sensors are no that accurate). Then I take that and change my air/fuel maps accordingly and slowly tune my way to being very close.
When I get it really close, then I spend some dyno time to get the last bit done.
I am not sure how the programmers for the HD stuff works. I have gotten pretty good at the car so I will be trying my own on the bike when I get some $$$ to but the tuner. I have too many hobbies and can't afford them all!

It's pretty funny to hear most of us bit** about $150 tune, We'll put $1000 in cams, $600 in exhaust, $200 in breathers, $300 in a tuning module of sorts, and then we'll complain about the $150 that it cost to makeall thatrun like they should.
And I'm one of the worst about it.

I can talk to the PCIII with my laptop but I am unable to do anything for the fuel/Air/Ratio read with out something like in the photo. You need to be able to anilize the AFR in order to properly tune the bike.

If anyone is looking for a good tuner, you can find these people in Daytona Beach Florida. They are home to Daytona, and go to the a lot of large bike events. I do not work for them or have anything to do with them. They have been tuning bikes for over 35 years. Price is a little high, but well worth the money. They tuned my SG in Myrtle Beach during Bike Week. It cost me $350.00, and it took them an hour and half to do it. You can also look them up on the net too just search for Carl's Speed Shop in Daytona Beach, Florida.

If you own your own SERT you can program it from your laptop, I've done mine and am curently making my own custom map using the Power commander maps.
You can customize the Sert map in basic mode using percentage of change in each Zone.
You must take care thet th Pwr Cmdr map is in throtle position and Sert map is in KPA,
so you need to remember that
0-6 % of throtle position = 10-50kpa
12 % = 40-55kpa
25 % = 55-90kpa
50 % = 90-100kpa
50-100 % = 90-100kpa
