The bag lids aren't ABS, there called GTX, I tried ABS cement & had no luck at all. I used plastic epoxy, don't know if it makes a difference but it was Locktite brand, Had the same repair & it seemed to hold very well. It's getting painted right now, so haven't had it on the bike, but I put a lot of pressure on it to see if I could break it back off again & it held up to that so I'm confident it will work. I know everyone calls them ABS but if you look at MOCO literature they refer to them as GTX, evidently a different type of plastic because I tried several ABS repair methods with no success, good luck.

If it is GTX, try an autobody supply store and get this stuff

New lid will probably cost 250 at dealer. None of that snake oil stuff will hold

There is an auto body shop down the street. I may go ask them what they think.

Are the tourpacks the same material?

Both of my posts cracked on one lid so the screws wouldn't hold. I filled the holes with JB Weld Quick and ran a little on the outside of the post cracks as well. Let it dry good overnight and drilled and retapped the post holes. Works like new with no issues. Its stronger than it was. New lid, $265.00 tube of JB Weld Quick $6.95! Color even matches so you cannot tell it was repaired.

Try this stuff:

Works great. It becomes part of the ABS. I have filled several holes in my saddlebags with it.

Didn't think about the JB Weld. I have some at home too. Just haven't ever used it before.

Gonna try this stuff, Dubble Bubble quick set epoxy. We use it at work to repair and rework parts that don't go out to customers. Sanded around the base and bottom of the post, cleaned with alchohol. Put a lamp over it for a little heat to help it cure overnight and well see tomorrow. As a last resort I will buy another lid but only as a last resort. I imagine trying to find one color matched for a decent price would be next to impossible or take a year. As long as I have one working post I guess it will have to do.
