I love the Dunlop Elite 3 tires I went to three years ago. Like them so much, just had another set put on after 17,000 miles with the first set. Handle tons better on the curves, in the rain, and doesn't track on bridge grates or tar snakes. By the way, denniskirk.com has great prices.
I have been running the Dunlop E3's since my stockers wore out. I love them. Much longer wear, better in the rain, not as much following tar snakes and pavement grooves. Much better all around, and no more cleaning white walls.
I buy my tires from whoever is cheapest online. Dennis kirk and Jake Wilson the last couple of times. I mount my own with my own tools. That equals huge savings.
I am running a slightly bigger rear, I think a 80/160 16.
I've got about 500 miles on the NEW Michelin Commander II. The motorcycle super store had them as a set for less than 300 bucks. Claim is twice the mileage over stock. First thin I noticed is they are a much smother riding tire over the dunlops. Hope this helps and good luck.
Ditto on the Michelin's. Got about 600 miles on a new set and I really like them, especially in the rain. They really do a great job for me. I changed from Dunlops. Just my 2 cents worth and your mileage may vary. Happy Trails....
The stock Dunlops are junk,I think we all agree on that.. It's amazing the difference in the E3 "Dunlop" and the stock tire Made by Dunlop.. Even the wife noticed the difference..
