I am considering putting Continental tires on my Ultra. I am just not real happy with Dunlops and the
mileage I am getting with them. I ran Shinko's on my Honda and they were cheaper and lasted longer than Dunlops.
I know Harley recommends only Dunlop, but hell that is probably cause they get them so cheap.
Best change I made to my Road King was putting on Metzler 880s. No problen with construction zones and the asphalt areas where they have ground off the top layer. Better cornering and a altogether better feel in my opinion. The only Continental tires I have any experience with were on a 2005 Dodge Magnum and they were crap. Wore out in 14,000 miles and rode terrible.
I have never had a dunlap on any bike that I got more than 8-9000 on the rear and a little better on the front. The shinko's were good to at least 11 and sometimes 12. I really don't like the way the Dunlaps feel on grooved payment and they feel loose on wet roads to me..
I put a set of "Conti-Tours" on about 3000 miles ago ... so far so good, I have run dunlop and metzler... got more out of the metzlers but have been advised i will get even more from the ct's... we'll see!! Love the feel and ride these have though!!
