Default Knee Arthroscopy ?

Had a torn medial meniscus repaired in my right knee yesterday. Just now starting to hurt a little.

Anyone had this done and how long would it normally take to get back to riding my Ultra. Dr said I could go back to driving/desk in a week or so.

Thanks

Had it done about a year and a half ago. No restrictions when I walked out the door. Had the surgery done on a Thursday and went back to work Monday. Doc said there was nothing I could do to hurt it.

I've had three along with other knee surgeries.... and a slew of others... College/ semi-pro football, motocross, etc..

Scopes are a very quick heal I'd say a day or two, or whenever the swelling doesn't inhibit your range of motion/strength.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Sounds like I should be back to my normal routine in a couple of days.

Were you guys back to riding in a few days as well?

I went back to riding the following week. Other than the swelling and it hurting a little there really is nothing you can do to hurt it.

Wow....maybe it was just my line of work but my surgeon had me out much longer. I wanna say it was at least a month before I returned to work and I was told I had to 'take it easy' on it. Even after that she suggested I stop running and take up other exercise (bike etc).

I gave up running long before the surgery. That is the very worst thing for your knee's. I'm a telephone man, very active inside and outside. No restrictions after surgery.

I'm the owner so I'll be back at work pretty quick. Now, If I were working for the man at the big corp, I'd take every day I could.

Ive had meniscus cleaned up with a scope and basically told as soon as able to tolerate it do it. The only delay was a couple days of post surgery swelling.

My 18yr son had a ACL repair with meniscus done 3 weeks ago and becaus of the ACL involvement he has to go more slowly, PT and Exercycle for range of motion as well as heeling time , it will be 4 - 6 months before any strenuous activity.

With both of us riding withing 7 days.
