Whatever you do MAKE SURE that your surgeon insists on a serious rehab for your knee.
From personal experience, yes you will be walking around in a day or so. That does not mean your knee will get stronger on it's own.
Everyone is different, but my rehab was 3 times a week, for 8 weeks.
I was riding (could support the bike) in 3 weeks. Better than new in 8.
I had the same thing done 7 or 8 years ago. If I remember correctly I was mowing my lawn about 3 or 4 days later and I rode my bike (Duece) within a week.
I did milk the time off from work for a full week though. Yeah, I worked for a large corporation LOL.
Went shopping the day of surgery.Did not ride for about a week. I was afraid if i needed to really push on that knee it would mess me up. You will be the best judge as to when you can do what. Some people can tolerate discomfort more that others. Take it easy, an extra couple of days of leg rest is not going to matter at this point.
I had that done several years ago out for 6 weeks just walking a little and ice pack for swelling + physical therapy for six weeks and it still isn't the same as before.
I had the scope done a few years back. Never got my range of motion back. If you are a week and still struggling with the ROM, get to therapy. I had arthritis so bad in my knee that the scraping did not help.

Regaining full ROM was the only lingering issue I had with my surgery. It took several months but all is well now. From my experience I wouldn't expect full ROM in a week.

Had mine done almost 2 years ago. I couldn't return to work for 6 weeks, but just because of what I do for a living and at the time I was 420 lbs. Knee is great now though. After losing 220 lbs, I don't even know I have knees most of the time.
Good luck with your recovery. I did all I could upon leaving the hospital and it helped with my range of motion a lot.
