I've had had the ACL repaired (skiing) and 3 other ortho trimmings (one from a bike accident) over the last 12 years. The only thing that I would add to what's been said is to do exactly what your doctor prescribes, no more, no less. He/she is the expert. I've always been back on the bike in the allotted time. Many times folks think they know better or feel like they can do what they want before the doc says and wind up set back. The best way to get back to enjoying the ride is to follow instructions.
I had mine scoped about a year ago i lift wieghts pretty regular and i wanted to get back to that so i made sure to go to therapy within 5 months i was squating over 500lbs again with no pain and at 6 months i could sprint. I have a co worker that had the same surgery a week after mine and he did no physical therapy its been ver a year now and his knee still isnt completely healed he still has loss of range of motion and some dull pain
Yesterday I had the same surgery as you had except mine was on the left knee. I took a couple of Oxy when I got home and iced it. I have no real pain this AM and only minimum swelling. I plan on riding to work on Monday.
Not quite been 48 hours yet but I've been getting around pretty good today.
Went to the shop this morning and noticed the longer I set the stiffer I am when I get up. As long as I walk around a little everything feels pretty good.
I'm home now and after an hour in this recliner those first few steps weren't easy.
ROM ? Is that really a concern with only fixing a torn medial meiscus. Dr never mentioned PT. Right now full straight is no problem, but know way could I do heel to ***.

It was for me and I had the exact same surgery. It was several months before I could do a full squat. Other than squats, I was 100% within a month.
With your surgery, you're not actually recovering from what the surgeon did inside, but rather how he "got" their. The swelling from the three holesand the swelling associated with it id what you are recovering from.
I had mine done about 6 years ago and only wish things had went as easy as most are saying! It took me 3 weeks before I could put weight on it and 3 months of PT before it worked half decent so I could return to work. I think I would have done better if I'd went the PT route and forgot about the surgery! I keep having trouble with that knee and the orthopedic doc is talking knee replacement. I AM NOT looking forward to that!
Good luck on the surgery and hope all goes well. I'll mention it to the man upstairs and ask him to help make things right.
