I had a SEPRT on my bike and decided to go with a TMax after working with a TMax on a friends bike.
The reason I went with the TMax was to get better throttle response and I also liked the tuning software and it's capabilities.
I'm happy with the TMax but I really don't feel the throttle response is much better. I still have a lag. My engine combo is below in my sig.
My brother in law has a similar build to mine on a 08 SG with a 113 and his throttle response is amazing, You just tap the throttle and his bike tach's to 3000 rpm.
I advanced the timing at idle and just off idle to try and get rid of the lag. It helped but it's still there.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks for the response. I bought the bike used with 600 miles on it so I didn't have any input with the engine build. I talked to the Harley dealer that did the build and this combo is what they said worked the best for them.
What is it about these cams that would indicate bad throttle response?
Those 9b's like a lot more comp than 10.1 Late intake valve close(50)and the duration of 252 degrees will not perform as intended with that comp. Get in touch with Hillside Cycles(a forum sponsor) and he will give you the in's and out's of what can be done to perk up your bike.
