Default Ignition Switch Pulled Off???

Ok, just parked the bike and turned the switch to off and the ignition switch pulled up. I pushed it back down and turned the wheel and locked the fork. Well, that was it. The switch stayed in lock position but I could straighten out the front. Long story short, I finally was able to unlock the switch but the whole switch lifted out, including sping. How do I put the switch back in so it functions properly? Also need to know how the heck did this happen? Of course today is Friday the 13th!

This is a good vid to learn how to remove the switch but yours is likely broken. I'd remove it and closely inspect it for obvious problems.

It's a 2012, take it to the dealer & tell them to fix it, that's what the warranty is for.

I just has one that would do the same thing. The screw holding the shaft to the **** came loose and the **** would wobble enough to pull out. There is a hidden screw under the **** decal that may need to be tightened.
