I was actually told I could have gotten a better deal but I ordered one of the custom colors, instead of taking one off the floor. And actually ordered it because I was afraid that the two that my dealer was getting in would be gone if I didn't do that.
I was in a similar situation, of the four dealers in Charlotte (surrounding areas) only one had a pewter pearl and profile laced wheels.
It is what I wanted and full MSRP would not have changed my mind.
Placed my orderon July 15, the day the H-D website introduced the 07's. So I paid MSRP (no discount) no deal.... no nothing (except 10% off parts for a year and free winter storage[:@])! Could havewaited and got $1500 free in parts (what they are offering now) but glad I didn't!!! Wanted it NOW!!
You're gonna love the 07 Roadie. What a SWEET Ride!
Here's some pic's on August 2nd, the day I picked her up!!
Got mine in Canada also. Paid MSRP. No prep charges. First service included and 20% on any parts if I install. If they install parts are at retail but no charge for install. BUT the big deal was on my trade in. They gave me retail on my 2000 Roadstar where other dealers were only offering wholesale for trade. That meant a big $2500 savings to me on the trade.
I'm so excited, can hardly sleep at night. I ordered a new Vivid Black Patriot Marine Corps edition Ultra last November. I first talked to the dealer.. offered me $12K for my 2003 Road King Classic (18.5K miles). I had convinced myself I'd just do some custom paint and put about $2500 in performance upgrades (bored/polished 1550). I'd been talking to the service manager for awhile and then decided to take one more run at the dealer. Dealer up'd the trade in to $12.5K, added a free SE AC and SERT, will take my SE 2 pipes off my RK and put on the Ultra. Also negotiated a trade in on the stock wheels... $200 credit on each toward chrome Harley wheels at 20% off. Also getting the chrome'd lowers... should be a real looker and performer! So now all I can do is read the Forum... live in MN, so won't even be able to ride much (I did do all 12 months in 2006 though!). Oh... no freight or set charges... $8440 with tax/licence OTD (w/o the wheels/lowers).... but still can't sleep :-)
07 ultra classic
Got mine early Dec. No real deal except I know it to be fare. 10% off parts and accessories, and a few sample cleaning products. Bags for boxes, tools and I guess thats it. Real happy so far.
