Default Source for Shop Manual

(Obligatory disclaimer: sorry if this topic has already been discussed, I did a search and didn't find anything.)

Any recommendations on where to get a shop manual for my 2008 Ultra Classic? I'm thinking I might want to do some work myself rather than taking it to the dealer every time. The Harley website lists service manuals for $60, but I also found a website (http://harley-davidson.servicemanualvault.com/) where I can download a PDF version for about $10. Is this any good, or should I spend the big bucks on the official Harley manual?

Thanks.

JL

downloaded stuff supports some guys overseas probably- it's not from a legit source.

the printed book allows you to smear grime on favorite pages with your hands, and is a much easier format to read.

online dealers offer typically 20% off, and used books show on the classifieds here at the forums.

Your local dealer is a good source for them!

Definately want to go with the HD manual. I bought my hardcopy at a dealer who was running a 20% special. E-bay is also a good source for a used one. You can also sometimes luck out on a local one on craig's list.

The PDF versions online, as some have said, are not legit. Having said that, I have heard from a couple of people on this forum who bought them and say that they work fine. For me, even if they were legit, I like the hardcopy to bring out to the garage versus getting my laptop all grimy... also, there are certain things where you have to flip from section to section, which is a pain in the butt on a PDF.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like the "legit" hardcopy is the way to go. I'll look for a good deal.
