Default Intercom / CB questions

I've never used the intercom feature before, but I'm planning on taking a family trip this summer and just might try it. So I have a few newbie questions............

The wife and sister want to be able to talk to each other (bike-bike) using the CB, is this possible? Is this possible without me using the headphones, I really don't want to listen to the sisters chatting for 4-5 days.

Will using the headphones stop the music playing via my speakers?

i currently don't have any headphones, what type/brand of headphones will work best with half helmets?

Thanks!

The short answer is... if you don't want to listen the hen session get an iPod, load up your music, insert your ear buds... and away you go.

I have the OEM headset mounted in out modular helmets. With the VOX on the intercom set to the desired level of activation Rider to passenger communication is great... add in the CB with the squelch set to filter out the nuisance static... and the CD playing...... and the speaker switch set headphones (the light illuminated on the switch)

When the vox activates, the music is reduced by 1/2 to 3/4 volume to hear the passenger. When the CB breaks the squelch, it turns off the stereo sound and both headsets will hear the CB traffic, and the PTT button must be used to talk on the CB, because the intercom is on also.

No matter what you do with the speaker switch, in order for your passenger to communicate on the CB, you will hear it all (thus the short answer version).

The other option is to get one of the SCALA or SCADA (forgot the brand name) bike to bike intercom systems for the ladies. The rest of the CB world will probably thank you.

I hope this rambling makes some sense and is helpful.

long b4 your tripp read the manuel then go to the garage sit on the bike and play with the cb\intercom for hours,it can do a lot IF u take the time to learn it.hd makes a heaset,j&m ,and I'm sure other"s as well,2 types on mounts to helmet the other is more like a headphone.for a half helmet,u can mount the speakers to the strap by your ears or use the zip on neck flap thingy and velcro to that.
