I put a Dunlop AE on the rear of my '09 Ultra last time, works great. I may try the new Michelin as well, I have Michelin on my cars and love them. I'll see what the everyone says in a few months when I'll be due.
On the American/non-American made subject: The part that gets me is when companies want Made in American type money for stuff made in the third world... like a lot of the HD parts we buy. When I shop at Walmart I know I'm buying Chinese products and I pay Chinese made prices. When a company charges the Made in the USA price but its made elsewhere it burns me. Along with Harley Davidson, REI (the outdoor/camping store) has started that crap. A lot of the brands they carry are really expensive but the stuff is made in China, Vietnam, India...Either make it here and charge the price or make it there and give us the benefit.

I definitely agree with this, But its not much that way, the top Brass just pockets the extra profits cause that now seems to be the Wall Street Way. When all the production is gone in the USA and theres hardly anyone left to buy stuff here
There going to wonder what the Hell Happened. Weve Lost the Chev and Ford place in our town, because of Factory Closings. The Rich dont buy those Brands. It aint over yet. The worst is yet to come. Keep buying and riding on those Asian Manufactured Products.

Well, the high quality Dunlop American Elite 180/65 B16 only made 10,000 miles of twisties here in NC before it cupped so bad on my 2009 Ultra I had to replace it! Yes inflation and alignment was always checked too.
Lonerider, so what are you running now? I got a combined 35K out of the first two D407 rears on my 09, I don't expect any less out of the American Elite I installed last week, should hit 50K easy on only the third rear tire. 95% of that mileage was fully loaded two up and a high percentage of mountain twisties.
My dad told me Michelin had a nice rubber plantation in Vietnam when he was there 66-68, of course it was French owned. Not surprised the tires are made outside the USA.
bmaier,
right now I'm running a new OE wheel and tire i bought from a member on here, I only got 11500 on the last 407 before the American Elite, I have a CommanderII mounted and ready when the new 407 OE goes bad. I run a lot of 3rd gear and use a lot of engine braking here,I'm lucky if I have 100yard without a corner

Reason: more info
World manufacturing has gone global and the only way to turn it back is to put your money here in the USA. Greed took it overseas.......Greed will follow it back to where the Money is !
