i only got 6500 miles on a Dunlap tire, i'm giving a comanderII a chance this time, they claim twice the mileage and i found it $20 cheaper then a new dunlop.im all for made in USA, but my money is too tight to spend more on less of a product

Yea, I can just see all the foreigners all huddled around making tires from bones, scrape metal and anything they can find. Then, sending those evil tires back to the USA knowing they are no good and laughing and laughing at us. Those evil people over there making things and selling them to the unsuspecting Americans. It's all so evil.

I'll stick with Dunlop, due to made in USA and with 15K and looking good for probably another 2-3K. There is some cupping that makes noise in the turns, but with that many miles I don't don't think any other brand would be better. We usually don't have enough options for buying USA products. I think this a decent American product that isn't way overpriced and is worthy of supporting the jobs here. On a sidenote, I think whenever you replace old rubber with whatever brand, you are going to have a better ride. People often think the new brand is better when it's just new rubber that's better.
Good luck on whatever you decide.

This is my third set of Dunlop tires. My mileage has always be around 11,12k miles on each set. If Michelin tires can go twice as long as Dunlop, as they claim, then I might try a set and save a buck. I notice on the Thailand Michelin web site, Michelin makes tires for B.F. Goodrich as well as several other brands...for whatever that's worth. Nothing stays the same anymore.

The Dunlop Elite 3's give great Milage, near or over 20K on the 160/80B16 that will fit all Touring bikes from 04-08 Made in Buffalo NY

Your point is well taken. I have no complaints with Dunlop tires with the exception I just don't get the mileage out of them you are getting. I would rather buy Dunlop but when I get only half the amount of mileage you are indicating you are getting, it is hard to keep sending money to Dunlop.

If Dunlop made a tire for my Fat Boy that lasted over 4500 miles I would buy it. I am going to try the commander II. I can use that saved money on tires to purchase other American stuff. Also people in America are hired my Michellin and Americans make money selling their tires.

I just put a Commander II on the rear. Replaced an Avon Cobra with 12,000 miles and it was at the wear bars.
