Took my 02' Ultra on a day trip with the wife last week. 56k miles will be all she gets out of the 88. Front cyl had as described by Eastvalley Performance as a hell of a lot of heat. Melted the sparkplug to the cyl head.
Well it forces me a year ahead of schedule on my engine build and will postpone the custom paint, bags and rear fender change this summer. BUT I will be getting the 95 kit, with Andrews cams and dumping my SERT for a Power Commander. although I am considering a Zippers Auto Tune.
Going to be a long week waiting for the bike back. Can't wait to see what the 95 kit does for it!
Best of luck. I'm waiting on what my 120 r is gonna cost. Or install my stock 96...
Not yet, I authorized the tear down yesterday. After he assesses the damage I will have a firm price.
I bought the bike in Vegas and it had a SERT with tune done there. Didn't think to have it check again when I brought the bike to Phx. Maybe the MAP was lean and the load riding to Payson up the hills was to much.
He said he will know when he pulls it apart. Also curious what a crate 120r would run.
The SERT has more ability than the Power Commander and better yet, it's already paid for. Why would you do away with it and go to a Power Commander?
I was wondering that exact same thing. You're still gonna have the same ECM, right? If so, I would think you're going to want it re-tuned. I'd use the best tool for the job in that case. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
