I had thought about getting one of those when they first came out, but I simply use a socket on the torque wrench on the right side and hold the nut on the left with the 36mm flat wrench that came in the tool kit with the bike. It's very easy while being directly behind the bike.
Looks like an expensive single-use tool to me. Maybe worth it if I were changing tires/wheels everyday, but for maintenance on my own bike I'll stick with a conventional wrench.
And one other thing. The welded side of the axle isn't even the biggest of problems for me. It's the other side that causes me more headache. The floating cam will always rotate "looser" when you tighten the nut.
I'm personally not all that impressed with the cam adjustment system on the current bikes.
I use a 18" adjustable wrench on the fixed side and a socket on the torque wrench on the other. I think the wrench was $3.00 at Harbor Freight with the 20% coupon. For the once every maybe 2 years I have to remove/adjust the wheel/belt, it doesn't pay to buy the lock tool.
