Question new 02 sensor install

Warranty on bike is over. Time to install new Stage 1. My bike is a 2010 FLHR. Had previously purchased a V & H true dual header to match my ovals. I want to use a Tmax tuner and did not realize that the sensor were different as well as location. My indy says not to worry he can drill and weld in the appropriate sensor in the correct location near the heads. My question is has anyone done this and has the result been alright as far as performance and since they are being welded how much discoloring will there be and will it be noticeable. ONly other option is a 2009 pipe or one with both sets of sensors. Any info would be appreciated.

Not to worry. Exhaust shops do it all the time. The discoloration will be coverd be the heat shields... Hindsite should have bought a set for an '09 as the O2 ports are in the correct location for the thundermax.

Had it done to my wife's 06 ultra classic. No problem. Don't worry.

First time Harley owner. Wasn't planning on Tmax but as others have stated go with what your mechanic is familiar with and thought that if I have other changes the Tmax will accomodate. Yes hindsight is a wonderfull thing. Glad to hear the discoloring will be hidden by heat shields. Thanks for the info.
