So money pretty much thrown away if you have a tuner, performance work or "off road, competition or closed course" parts.
Buyer beware, read the exclusions and see how they apply to you.
2.) will the servicing company be in business should you have a claim ( it is a 3rd party company, not Harley-Davidson, not the Dealer)- will they cover you if riding in another State, Province or Country ?
3.) consumer regs vary widely and you should check your local State or Provincial regs to see what the recourse is if warranty services are denied.

I also think expected mileage is a factor. If you only ride 3K/year, probably not worth it. Personally I'm planning to put an a$$load of miles on mine. For this year alone, from Michigan, I have trips to Sturgis, Atlanta, Toronto and up north Michigan, and I already have 3K on my 2012. So I bought it, but if I wasnt planning many miles, I would have passed.
I like to have a warranty on anything that I am making payments on. Nothing p1sses me off more than to put money into a vehicle that I still do not have a clean title for.
I highly recommend it. Worked in a Service Dept for awhile and contrary to an above post. The less you ride it the more you need it. Seals have a tendancy to harden
I have the T-Max tuner, V&H power duals and ovals, non stock lights, rims (21" up front), a 500 watt amp in my bag and some other stuff.
Guess I will get grief if I do take it in for warranty work?
Wow I have the 103 upgrade, 255 cams, TTS master tune, reinhart slipons, fullsac header, SE air kit with K&N filter and they just replaced the compersator with the SE comp. a new stator, and starter clutch parts. only paid $50.00 thats required by my extended warranty.
Mods don't necessarily void warranty. I've used mine (esp) on a engine rebuild. Worth every dollar IMO. Nest suggestion is have a good relationship with your dealer.
