Make a bracket to fit your license plate bolts.You will not have to drill any more holes and it will not look out of place. I was going to do the same thing until I saw the brightasslights. Its more money but much more light, looks OEM, many flash patterns and 3 run intensities to choose from, you can change your patterns with a magnet and not a power wire that will be hanging from the whelen. All you do is unscrew your tail light, unplug your tail light, put new gasket (comes with light) plug in "OEM" brightasslight, srew into place. NO SPLICING WIRES. Now another 30 minutes playing with all the settings because you cannot make your mind up of which pattern to choose from. Then the next day another 30 minutes playing with all the settings because you cannot make your mind up of which pattern to choose from. Just pick one and be happy. until you get bored with than pattern then start over. Also if you want to see how it works just about all the H-D dealers have a display.
