Default Progressive 940 setting?

I put on the 940 and set it to the highest setting possible assuming that this was the softest setting ( the twister is all the way at the top no grooves showing) is this correct or do I have it backwards? Cause right now every time I hit a bump I feel like the bike is gonna fall apart, It almost feels like there is no tire on and the bumps are hitting the rim. It might be a different problem but in thinking since I just installed these that this is the problem.

Sounds to me like you have it backwards.
My vote would be to move it to the middle setting and gauge it from there.

The softest spring setting will be when the spring is at it's longest, and the hardest setting will be when the spring is shortest, in other words most compressed. There is a video on their website.

This is how I have it now. I can't figure out what else it could be. I checked the tire pressure is good. It gives me a clank everytime I hit a bump almost like I'm bottoming out.

I heard through this forum that the 940s come stock with a stiff spring. When I bought mine I had Progressive swap out the stock spring to a softer one. Even with the softer spring, I use the least amount of compression when riding solo. I feel like the shocks work great for me with this set up. I weigh 190 lbs. It sounds to me like you do indeed have your shocks set with the least amount of compression, and they are still too stiff. You should call customer service at Progressive. They are good to work with.

If the spring is indeed too stiff it may be you are topping out, in other words the shock compresses a little on hitting that bump, then fully extends on rebound, giving a clank.

Yep that's what I'm thinking. Already emailed progressive about changing spring. Will adjust it a couple of turns for my way home see if it's any different

I don't really see anything that could be done to it to make it bad. It's all original with progressive part numbers stamped on all parts.

Read the instruction sheet- it tells you what the mininum/maximum pre load setting are.
