Me and the wife stopped by a dealer on our weekend while out riding to just look around as usual, when we both were in ah over a new SG on the floor in the Ember Sunglo. I have an 04 FLHT the ive put the SG look on that i really like and had no intention of selling. Heres my question, is there really any benfits to the newer bike than what i have. Obviously more power from the 103, but is the ride/handling going to be noticeably better, or should i keep my 04 and my money.....? Thanks
90% of people who have ridden both pre-09 and post 09 will report night and day better ride, but whether that alone is worth it only you can decide, plus you have an 8-year newer bike with a 2 year warranty, etc etc... your call
New frame, 103, 6-speed, ABS. Those were enough to make me trade my '05 RK.
The ride is a touch on the stiff side, but not objectionable. I'm thinking I might go with aftermarket shocks this winter. I really like my SG.
What JonW said. I don't like the rear shocks either, and I may go to a different set after this season.
Lose the cat and put a T-Max on and you will have lots more power too!
I love the ride on this SG I have. But then my last ride was an older softail. But as has been mentioned, the ride is stiff. I may look into rear shocks next season after I edu-ma-cate myself on them first.

Me too. I had a 2000 RK...nice bike but I am loving my SG! Go badger some dealers with some test rides to find out for sure.
Just went from an 07 SG to a 12 SG and love it. I think everything about it is better. The ride, handling, the power, the bigger tank. Love it. Good luck with your decision.
