Appears to be under the the blackfactory (ceramic???) coating..looks kinda brown now...anyone else had this happen to them and short of getting it recoated what did you do? Thinking about some flat black stove paint but not to sure how that would look...of course it couldnt look to much worse than the brownish -black it is now.
yes i know[sm=ttiwwp.gif]but i dont have any and wont be back to take any till the w/e.
I had them powder coated didn't stay to long. and to have them ceramic coated was to high and they said they would not guarantee it. so after 2 powder coatings, i found that the best was to sand blast them, then pick up a can ofHIGHT HEAT black paint from auto parts store $5. and it worked even better and does not heat up and flake off, no rust, no problems
I too havea rusting problem and from experience doing powder coatings and having a set of V&H ceramic coated ($175.00)we didn't get a ceramic coating on our pipes. I never had any problems with the coatings on the V&H pipes. It all goes back to preparation before you coat them. But there dam sure make the power just look bad for now.
I hope Don Rich reads this forum great pipeseven packaged for shipping better than anyI have ever seen. But crappy finish.....
Man that looks crapy. It kinda look's like your Black engine is pitted out also. Or maybe it's just the picture????What part of the country do you live in?? Afew years ago I went to Daytona and alot of the Bikes that were for sale at the Dealer looked kinda like that. They said it was from the salt water.. Man that would really suck..........
WOW - my Thunderheader rusted - but not that bad...sand with elec. sander and paint with paint at least 1500deg ...
I just read someone here has 2000 deg paint - that would be the shizzle....
