Default Gloss Hi-Temp Paint?
Does anyone make a 1200 degree hi-temp paint in gloss black? I've been looking and can only find it in flat black. I wanna do my exhaust heatshields over the winter but I think it would look better in gloss..........

pretty sure you can only do gloss black heat sheilds with the newer hi-temp powder coatings... like you say, the rattle paint only comes in flat..

I've found a place nearby that does black chrome. The price is 30% more expensive than regular chrome. Plus they say come in and look at our samples because it's more of a smokey black, less of a vivid black persay. I have to go have look because I'd really like that! OK it's 20 times the cost of a rattle can but it will last, and look killer!

A google search for "hi temp gloss black" came up with pages of results, I'd try there..

Restoleum(sp) makes a semi gloss black high temp barbecue paint.Got a can sitting in the garage.

VHT makes some! works great! on heat wrap... i would never shoot pipes though, just too brittle and will scratch to easy... pop for it and get powder... hell we do most heat shields around 100 bucks. not bad for custom pipes

i used the same thing on the backing plate of my Air cleaner. gave it a cleaner look.

1200 is a bit much, the rustoleum BBQ paint in semi gloss should do the trick. least for starters.
