Default Luggage

Looking for a decent price on a bag to use for a four or five day trip. I need it to be affordable because I won't be using it to often. I would like it to be able to mount my "Day Bag" on top of it as well.
Any ideas???
Thanks.

I have the Kuryakyn Full Dresser Bag. It worked for me on a 2200 mile trip. It's got a ton of features that make it very useful. It also won't break the bank. Here is a link.

Good luck.

The least expensive option is to go to Wal-Mart and pick a bag the size you need but make sure that is has enough attachmens that will allow you to secure it to your bike.

While you're there get yourself some bungee cords and by all means find yourself a "cargo net".
If thay have different sizes get the largest cargo net they have (24"x24"?).

When we're riding double, storage capability is badly needed.
We use a plastic garbage bag as a liner on the inside of the luggage bag to keep our clothes dry, and you may wan to have another garbage bag to store your dirty clothes in to keep them away from your clean clothes.
(Double bagging may be a good idea if you're riding long distances in the rain).

Once the luggage bag is securely attached to your bike, attach one side of the cargo net to your bike (I hook at the bottom first) or to the bungee cords that are attaching your luggage bag to your bike and then place your rain gear, extra shoes, helmet, etc on top of the bag and cover it with the cargo net then hook and secure the net over the top to the bungee cords or where ever it's more secure.

I've found that its almost impossible to have too many bungee cords, even f you have saddlebags and a tour pack.
On my way home from Alaska, the luggage rack that suppors mu tour pack broke in Iowa and I had to bungee the tour pack on to make it home.

Try to load all bags evenly, heavy stuff on the bottom and center the load on your bike. It may not be pretty and you'll probably have to occassionally check re-hook the load but it will get the job done.

This is close to what I have. Strap it on my tourpac rack or on my rear seat. Works well for me and cheap. Carry a trash bg to cover it if it rains

I use the big Tbag.
moisture resistant with a pull over rain liner.

sturdy and rigid

lots of pockets

good attachment options

I put in on the rear seat and use for a backrest

one of the better things I've bought for my bike

If ya want cheap I am the guy to help ya out. I use a simple army surplus duffel bag. I got a can of boot water proof spay or even thompsons water seal. Fits surprisingly well on the tour pack rack, a couple bungies and your off. I re water proof it every year, even though it doesnt need it. I put clean clothes in a garbage bag and dirty ones just go into the bottom. Carried enough gear for myself and the other half for 8 day trip. You probably have one or know someone who does sitting in the garage gathering dust. Not pretty no HD logos but it works great and its can be free or damn close.

Ditch the bungee cords and get Rok Straps instead. MUCH better and worth the money.

That's what I did. It fits nicely on the tour pac rack, has attachments at the four corners, is some kind of pliable plastic on the inside so it is waterproof, (kind of like those "soft" ice chests) black cordura nylon on the outside. It was in the ATV section. To top it off I got it as a red tag special!!! I ordered a rain cover for it from Nelson-Rigg just for extra protection. Think I gave about $15 for it. You can kind of see it in the photo.
