Default Strange noise....

'10 FLTRX. When between 40-50mph I get a low pitched "howl" coming from the mid to rear of the bike. I pull the clutch in and the noise doesn't change.
Any ideas?

Thx...

Tire howl. Do a side to side sway, like zig-zagging through traffic cones, and see if the tone changes. Do it at the speed you hear it at, but don't turn tight. You just want the bike to lean, and put a different part of the rubber on the road.

if its tire howl because the tire is cupping out and the tire is still in really good shape except for the cupping you can have the tire shaved, some call it trueing to take the cupping out, you also lose a little tread, if tire is half wore out it would'nt be worth it to me to do, just giving you an option is all

I remember getting a noise like that a couple of times on my Deuce when it was new. The bike never misbehaved in any way and it just went away. Have no idea what it was. Rode the bike 10 years and it was totally dependable!
