Default Throttle lag

Has anybody experienced a lot of throttle lag after installing a Power Commander? What can I do to get rid of it?

I added a PC III when I had a BB installed on my bike and noticed it right away. The bike was tuned on the dyno and runs great but I just don't like the lag I notice when I first begin to open the throttle.

There is a accelerator pump feature in the software that can help you tune the off idle response. Basically it will add fuel by percentage in relation to throttle position. You might play with that a little.

Another thing you need to check is your throttle position. Hook up your laptop to the bike and start it. Make sure the computer screen says 0% throttle position when your idling. When I bought my PCIII years back it defaulted to 6% for some reason. Once I reset it the off idle response was better but not great.

3rd thing you can try is changing the map in the off idle rpms and stay under 20% throttle. Basically start taking fuel away in the little boxes or add fuel and see how the bike responds. I just did this for a friend of mine and it made a world of difference. If you have modified your baffles or removed them you will have more difficulty getting the results you're looking for.

Thanks for the info. This looks like some really helpful stuff. In regards to your first recommendation, is the accelerator pump feature part of the PCIII software?

You may need to download it from their website if I remember right. Once you do that you will need to be hooked up to the PCIII and powered up to access it and use it.
